NAWRB Adds New Pillar to Small Business Sustainability Care Package

SmallBusinessSustainability

The National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses (NAWRB) announces the expansion of its Small Business Sustainability Care Package with a fifth pillar, Small Claims Accountability. In December 2016, NAWRB released the Small Business Sustainability Care Package to provide accountability and sustainability to the 30 million small businesses across the nation. As small business owners encounter obstacles, NAWRB equips them with sound tools and information for success.

Our Small Business Sustainability Care Package: Know Before You Lose! highlights five  main pillars small business owners should utilize in securing their resources:

  • fortifying their cybersecurity with the right services
  • acquiring insurance with crime prevention and employee dishonesty riders
  • vetting their financial institutions
  • using payroll alert/assistance
  • small claims accountability

Introducing the Fifth Pillar

Small Claims Accountability – Disputes between small businesses, business owners or businesses and subcontractors are common and sometimes require legal action to resolve. Small claims courts can be used for resolving disputes or bill collection in a cost-efficient manner if the case meets the court’s dollar limit. Small businesses benefit from being as informed as court officials about the process of filing claims, given the court’s responsibility to handle claims with proper care and financial literacy.

“Small businesses are a driving force for the economy, but from 2004-2014, an average of 21.5 percent of small businesses didn’t survive past the first year, according to the SBA,” stated Desirée Patno, NAWRB CEO & President. “Having the right toolkit to help alleviate problems before they can pose a serious threat to your business is essential. NAWRB is pleased to present actionable items to educate small business owners on protecting their companies from short- and long-term challenges.”
