NAWRB is excited to join hands with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to co-host the Orange County chapter of the InnovateHER competition.

The InnovateHER competition aims at discovering women entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. This event is co-hosted by NAWRB and gives the brilliant business women of Orange County and surrounding areas an opportunity to showcase their potential.

The first ever InnovateHER program was held in May, earlier this year, to complement the National Small Business Week. The main goal of this program is to find and encourage small business owners and women entrepreneurs with ideas for innovative products.

The inspiration for this challenge is the fact that an increasing number of women have entered the workforce in the past few years and there is a bigger need for various services and products that can help women and their families cope with changes in their lifestyles.

InnovateHER gives you the chance to showcase your business ideas to the world, everything from a simple cookbook or website that would help women cook healthy meals in a jiffy to an app that could help them shop for groceries right from their phone.

It would be great to have representatives from our area among the 10 finalists sent to Washington, D.C. for an opportunity to present their ideas and receive funding to put their ideas into action. Read on to see if you are eligible for this competition that is bound to get you noticed on a national platform.

Want more incentive to send in that application? The winners could get prizes ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. Click here to learn more about the challenge criteria and eligibility details.

To participate in the local InnovateHER competition and possibly qualify for the final round in Washington, D.C., please:

  • Submit a business plan covering your proposed product or service
  • Comply with the Challenge criteria set by the SBA

Please send in your applications to shideh.balali@www.nawrb.com.
