SBA – $349 Billion for Guaranteed Loans

The CARES Act grants the SBA to give out a total of $349 billion for guaranteed loans! The U.S. Small Business Administration has updated their application for Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Interested businesses as well as previous applicants are being asked to apply or reapply at the link: https://www.sba.gov/disaster/apply-for-disaster-loan/index.html. Check the $10,000 box to access the emergency grant. For businesses who applied prior to Monday, March 30th, you will need to reapply with the SBA (even if you were rejected or pending approval). Housing Ecosystem Hit by Historic Government Shutdown

At the time of this writing, the longest government shutdown in U.S. history ended after 35 days, lasting from Dec. 22, 2018 to Jan. 25, 2019. While the shutdown has ended, there’s always the potential for another as political unrest remains.

Regardless of what the future holds, many government agencies have been affected, causing federal employees to either be furloughed or work without pay. In addition, national parks were forced to close, and affordable housing funding has come to a halt, among other effects that will continue to be felt during the course of the year.
