Renters and Homeowners Eligible for SBA Disaster Loans

From the hurricanes that hit Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, to the wildfires and mudslides that devastated parts of California, the past year has been fraught with catastrophic natural disasters which have uprooted countless Americans from their stable lives. All victims of declared natural disasters—businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners and renters—are able to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help them recover. Renters and homeowners do not have to own a business to apply.

FHFA Releases RFC for Responsibilities of Boards of Directors, Corporate Practices and Corporate Governance

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has recently announced a Request for Comments (RFC) regarding proposed amendments to its regulation on the Responsibilities of Boards of Directors, Corporate Practices, and Corporate Governance for all its regulated entities. These amendments will require directors of all entities to have strategic business plans in effect throughout the year, including annual reviews, re-adoption and reporting requirements.

WHER: First All-Woman Radio Station in the 1950s

WHER_Report

Before WHER was an acronym for NAWRB’s Women in the Housing Ecosystem Report, it was the name of the world’s first radio station hosted and ran by women in the 1950s. WHER, 1430 on the AM dial,  first aired in 1955 by the help of Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records, who introduced musical icons such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison to the world.
