In response to the PPP Flexibility Act of 2020, signed into law by President Trump on June 5, 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) posted a revised, borrower-friendly Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness application. In addition to revising the full forgiveness application, SBA also published a new “EZ version” of the forgiveness application. “These changes will result in a more efficient process and make it easier for businesses to realize full forgiveness of their PPP loan,” states the SBA’s official press release.

London-based consumer goods based company Unilever announced significant achievements they have made towards reaching gender parity among their global managers. According to their announcement on March 3, 2020, women now make up 50 percent of management globally at their company. This figure has increased 12 percent since ten years ago, when women made up 38 percent off management.

As part of Women’s History Month—which stems from a group of New York women factory workers protesting for better working conditions on this day in 1857—March 8th was first recognized and observed as International Women’s Day in 1909.
The month of March is Women’s History Month, dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the central role of women in American history. Women’s History Month began as Women’s History Week in 1981 and was observed as such until 1986. Beginning in 1987, resulting from petitions from the National Women’s History Project, Congress extended the week to a month. Every year, Congress passes a resolution for Women’s History Month, and the president issues a proclamation.

There are many reasons one might choose to move to another state, but a common motivation is finding a state that offers many opportunities for higher-paying jobs. Glassdoor is helping citizens in their search of the best state for increasing their economic independence with the recent release of their Best Cities for Jobs 2020 Report, released this week.
The report identifies the U.S. metros with the highest overall Glassdoor City Score on a comparison of the 50 most populated metros, which weighs factors such as, hiring opportunity (i.e., the ratio of active job openings to population), cost of living (i.e., the ratio of the median base salary to median home value) and job satisfaction. Each region is scored on a 5-point scale (with 5 being best city for a job, and 1 indicating worst city for a job).

Honorable Maxine Waters, Chairwoman of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, and Honorable Joyce Beatty, Chair of the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion, recently released a report titled, “Diversity and Inclusion: Holding America’s Large Banks Accountable,” which serves as a deep dive into the actions the Committee will take regarding the diversity practices of financial services and a guide for banks and other financial institutions to follow.
