We are excited to announce that NAWRB’s nominee for the InnovateHER Challenge, City Girl Prepper, is one of the six local winners advancing to the semi-final round!

City Girl Prepper is helping women to be prepared for everyday disruptions and disasters with ready-made emergency kits and gear designed for women and their families. City Girl Prepper provides women with the resources they need, want, and deserve to have in case of an emergency.

Ten finalists will be chosen during the semi-final round to travel to Washington, D.C. to pitch to a panel of judges for a grand prize of $70,000.

On May 25, 2017, NAWRB co-sponsored the InnovateHER Innovating for Women Challenge 2017 with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) at the Lutron Electronics Training Center in Irvine, CA.

Of four participants, City Girl Prepper won based on three challenge criteria:

● Has measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30%);
● Has the potential for commercialization (40%); and
● Fills a need in the marketplace (30%)

This competition is inspired by the need for innovative products and services to assist working women and their families.
