U.S. and World Populations on New Year’s Day

Before the start of the new year, the U.S. Census Bureau released their projections for the United States and World populations for the first month of the year. According to their report, the U.S population was 330, 222,422 on January 1, 2020, representing an increase of 0.61 percent, or 1,991,085, since New Year’s Day 2019. Since the last decade, the population has grown by 21, 476, 884, or by 6.96 percent.

U.S. Census Bureau Announces First Areas to Receive 2020 Census Invitations

To help prepare households for the upcoming 2020 Census next year, the U.S. Census Bureau has released the Mail Contact Strategies Viewer, which shows how different areas of the country will be asked to respond to the 2020 Census and which households will receive English/Spanish bilingual invitations and questionnaires. Almost all households will be invited to respond online, by phone or by mail starting in the middle of March 2020.
