Across the country, rents are on a continual upward trajectory while wages have remained stagnant.

Americans have risen to meet the challenge of increasing rent in several ways. Living with roommates is the most popular arrangement for people trying to lessen the impact of housing costs on their paychecks. According to Make Room data, among millennials living in Massachusetts in 2013, 13.2 percent reported living with roommates; in Colorado this figure was 11.7 percent, marking a three percent increase from 2008 for the Rocky Mountain state. Women in the Housing Continuum

Irvine, CA – The National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses (NAWRB) is proud to announce the release of NAWRB Magazine’s Volume 4 Issue 6!

This has been a pivotal year in securing viable conversation for professional Women in the Housing Continuum, our theme for this issue. We review the limited data of women in boardrooms and the greater effect of bringing C-suite women to the table.

Our sheCENTER(FOLD), Dottie Herman, is the president and CEO of Douglas Elliman, the fourth largest real estate firm in the country. From her time as a single mother to turning down multi-million dollar offers for her company, she shares her trailblazing journey with our readers.

Among our notable highlights of 2015 were receiving the APEX Award for Publication Excellence recognizing our international magazine; the recent announcement of our Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council (NDILC), dedicated to bringing women to the forefront with accountability and results; and our approval as a Freddie Mac HomeSteps Diversity Supplier.
