DOL Announces $1.5 Million Fund for Women’s Apprenticeships & Job Opportunities

The U.S. Department of Labor announced that $1.5 million in grant funding is available to help recruit, mentor and retain women in apprenticeship programs and help women pursue careers in manufacturing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, health care and other industries. The grant will be administered by the Department’s Women’s Bureau and the Employment and Training Administration.

DOL Awards $1.9 Million to Increase Apprenticeship Opportunities for Youths and Adults with Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) has recently announced that it has awarded a two-year, $1.9 million contract to Oakland, California’s Social Policy Research Associates, Inc. (SPRA) to improve apprenticeship opportunities for youths and adults with disabilities in high-growth industries. This follows the recent presidential Executive Order on Expanding Apprenticeship in America.
