According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and this number is projected to increase to 14 million by 2050. Of this number, 13.8 million people will be age 65 years and older, making it difficult for medical breakthroughs to slow or cure the disease for existing conditions.
